Mom! You already know me! Seriously, this is just what you already know, you can go back to Pinterest now.
Sorry about that everyone else! This section is actually just for you! If you want to know more about me, keep reading!
This blog is run by me, Stephen. I’m a 30-something enginerd with a degree he doesn’t use and a passion wanting to do everything but only having enough time for netflix and video games…Ok I fit a few other things in there too!
I was born and raised on the east coast of Canada on an island called Cape Breton. I was raised by my parents and have two older sisters. They’ve all played unique parts in shaping my life, in some ways I’m only recently realizing.
I attended University at the former University College of Cape Breton (now CBU) where I received an Engineering Diploma through an associated University Program. Once I was done there I went on to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia to receive a degree in Industrial Engineering.
Immediately after finishing school(didn’t wait for graduation) I took a job with a major construction company in Alberta(Where the jobs/opportunities were). I’ve been living there with my girlfriend ever since!
Along the way I’ve done a lot of random things. In university I worked and managed one of the student bars, I worked a summer job performing demolition work, I tried my hand at stand-up comedy and found out I can be pretty damn funny sometimes! I also started a small now defunct clothing company with a few friends to help pay for our paintball addiction. With some help from my parents and some highly lucrative work terms in remote locations I managed to graduate debt free!
Once I was working I finally had some spare money to spend on trips I’ve always wanted to take and after one trip to the United Kingdom and a few European cities, I was hooked! Since then I’ve been travelling whenever my work schedule and wallet lets me.
To help travel as much as possible, I’ve been trying to keep my spending in check and making sure I have investments for an early and prosperous retirement.
That’s me in a nutshell. This blog will be about everything that’s happened along the way. I’ll dabble in a bits on my life, my goal to reaching financial freedom, and hopefully lots of travelling on this long journey! Tell me about yourselves in the comments, or ask me what else you may want to know about me.
